Crochet Elephant Applique

Elephant Applique

This small elephant applique is so cute and small works up really fast and it can be used on anything. Sew it onto hats, mittens, scarfs, pillows, blankets, tea cozy's and much much more. So if you want something fast easy and fun this elephant is for you!

















Abbreviations/Need to know

  • 1st ch 2 or ch 1 never counts as 1st dc or sc
  • sc- single crochet
  • dc- double crochet
  • hdc- half double crochet
  • ch- chain
  • sl st- slip stitch
  • st(s)- stitch(s)
  • use caron simply soft yarn
  • g-hook
  • ( )- number of stitches

Ears -make 2

  1. ch 4, 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook, 1 sc in each of the last 2 sts, turn (3sc)
  2. ch 2, 3 dc in 1st st, 2 hdc in next st, 4 dc in las st, tie off (7dc, 2 hdc)

Head and Trunk

  1. make a magic circle, dc 15 times inside magic circle, pull tight, join in 1st dc (15 dc), ch 9, 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook, 1 sc in the next st, 2 sc in each of the next 2 sts, 1 sc in each of the last 4 sts, sl st into next st in head (10 sc), tie off
